Switching.
I’m switching. No, not to a Mac (already did that sometime in early 2000). I’m switching from CodeIgniter to Kohana. Why? A few reasons, really. Kohana was branched from CI and refactored to be pure PHP 5 OOP; no legacy PHP 4 code to be found. It also features a less restrictive input and routing system (to wit: mixing paths and query strings really is okay!) and a very good ORM layer...

Weight loss.
I am proud to say that since beginning my diet and exercise regimen last Monday, I have lost four pounds and I feel fantastic.

There is an untruth somewhere within this post.
My family has gone off the deep end. I am working on something really cool that I’ll probably never release to the public. I’m going to be up for a while on account of items 1 and 2. I am listening to die Zauberflöte, K. 620; Overture. One of these things is false.

List domains you own using PHP
I wrote a tiny script today to extract a list of domains that I own simply by pasting in a blob of text copied from my Dreamhost control panel; I presume it will probably work with any other glob of text with some domain names in it. It (obviously) doesn’t find anything other than com, net and org TLDs, because that’s all I ever register. Use at your own risk. $raw = <<<STR ...

Also available: 2.4ghz 24" iMac
Anyone interested? It’s almost brand-new and has 4gb RAM. Email me at kyle.bragger AT gmail.com — I’m trying to consolidate down to one system (coincidentally, I also have about a year-old black MacBook with 2gb RAM [the system is a 2.16ghz Core 2 Duo]).

Apartment for rent!
My current apartment is going to be up for rent in a month or two. I live in 11216, right around the corner from the A/C at the Kingston Ave. station. Rent will probably be around eleven to twelve-hundred for a pretty gorgeous two-floor space with a large, sunny bedroom, as well as a separate office room with french doors and a walk-in closet, spacious, private backyard, as well as a pretty good...

New site.
I just wrapped up a basic new design for kylewritescode.com — I started by sketching it out on the train to Philly, whipped up a PSD, built XHTML and CSS, and only a few short hours later I pushed it live. Enjoy! UPDATE: I got too lazy to design a nice way to display my posts, so I took the whole thing down for now.

caro: I’m pretty sure that after today it will be completely unacceptably gauche to ever rickroll anybody ever again. Yes. Today will be forever known as The Day That Killed The Rickroll. I propose that the new Rickroll be this: http://youtube.com/watch?v=Wffwg7pA0t8 Yes, that’s right. Thank *you* Stacy Hedger. You’re going to single-handedly save the internet.

Viral Video Politician: Example of Ad Unit →
rickyv: We launched a new type of sponsorship on CH today. An advertiser gets a 3 second title card prior to the video and a 15 second post-roll for anybody who wants to stick around after the video and watch it. Also, there’s branding on the whole page. The first sponsor is AirTran. I think what you see here typifies the compromise advertisers and web users will soon reach – creative that is...

Some dudes at Angelsoft messing with our switch (or something—I don’t know what hardware is upstairs) to point everything at google.com to Lycos was not cool. Perhaps you have time to kill, but I need to get actual work done.
